Welcoming our first Squirrel drey

Coming summer 2026

Our newest and youngest are aged between 4 and 6, and they take part and enjoy an active, exciting, fun, and creative programme.

We meet every Friday from 5:00-6:00pm

Between Easter and late September, we try to spend as much time ‘outside’ as the weather allows.

We take a break during the School holidays as many of our Squirrels will need a rest and leaders may also be on holiday, plus it gives us a chance to catch up on planning the next great adventure when we all meet up again. We focus on friendships and creativity.

The Squirrel Scout “Promise”

As an inclusive Squirrel Drey, we have various “promise” options available to our young members. You can see all of the options on the main scouts.org.uk website; however the most common option within our current group can be found below….

I promise to do my best to be kind and helpful and to love God.

Although we are a Catholic group, we welcome Squirrel Scouts from all faith groups and backgrounds and we will adjust our Squirrel Scout promise to suit the individual.

Information about Squirrels…

There is a lot of information on the main Scouts website about what we do. We have curated some information for parents and prospective Scouts using the links below.

Who can be a 2nd Baldock Squirrel?

Anyone aged between 4 and 6 that has an association with Baldock and our local area that wants to be a member of a great Squirrel Drey.

Life after Squirrels…

When our Squirrels hit 6, they will be eligible to join our Beaver colony where the fun continues and it gets a little bit louder. From here you will gain more skills and more independence.
