17th to the 19th July
Our Cubs will be camping and enjoying the outside at this year’s main summer camp.
We’ll be announcing activities soon.
Parents and guardians – Please register your interest on OSM as soon as possible.
Friday 17th to Sunday the 19th July
Guardian camp is for our Scouts and their parents/guardians…
Getting everyone involved with activities and spending time together, we try to run a guardian camp at least once every two years, and this year… 2026 – It’s happening!
Activities and location TBC.
Parents and guardians can sign up now in OSM.
19th June – 6-8PM
This year’s annual general meeting will be at the Church Hall.
Young leaders will be running fun activities for everyone to partake in. This is an essential part of Scouts operating in Baldock and all of our members and their families are welcome along with the community at large.
We look forward to seeing you there.
30th to 31st May.
Our Scouts will be having a whole weekend away camping and spending time on the water.
Scouts will be learning the basics of sailing and getting out on the water. Some will be new to this but some are now seasoned sailors who will help our younger and newer Scouting members.
In the evening, Scouts will be cooking and camping overnight.
We will be packing the sails away and Scouts will be taking on 2 paddle sports activities before it’s time to pack up and head home.
Parents and guardians: Please see the relevant section in OSM for more details.
Camping and spending time away from home is a great way to build the confidence of our young people. It promotes self development and pushes personal boundaries which allows our young people to do more in the future.
We promote and provide #SkillsForLife and we could not do it without the support of donations and volunteers. Everyone who runs 2nd Baldock Scouts is a volunteer, giving up their own free time to help young people in the local area fulfil their dreams and meet their potential.
This year our leaders, parents and selection of Cubs and Scouts will be running the bag drop, allowing runners of this great annual event to get on with what they love – Running!
For more information on the Baldock Beast, check out the BEF page for the event…
Our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will be running the BBQ at this years Beer Festival; we’ll also be helping keep the venues clean and the rubbish clear with our amazing volunteers.
Thank you to everyone at the Baldock Beer Festival and all the volunteers. Events like this make a huge impact to our young people.
On the 10th June Cubs will be doing a practical element of their cyclist badge.
To make this as inclusive as possible, we need your help…
Please read this page and complete the survey at the end.

Do not worry, just fill in the feedback poll at the bottom which will influence our planning
of the activity or contact Chil in confidence where we will see what we can do to assist.
We want this activity to be accessible to everyone and so we want to plan early to get the best results.
Cubs will need an appropriately sized bike to take part and bikes need to be in a roadworthy condition…
We will not be road riding – Lighting is not required.
Cubs will also need appropriate clothing that is suitable for cycling in.
All Cubs will need a helmet that is a suitable size and equipped with a chin strap.
We are not running a “Bike Ability” session, but part of the badge is to assess your Cubs’ ability to ride a bike safely.
We will match the session and the route based on the feedback provided in the form below; please be honest so that we can tailor the session to the Cubs and so everyone gets the most out of the session.
At this time, the plan is that we will be meeting and starting on the other side of Baldock under the A1(m) bridge near Letchworth as this gives us access to a route suitable for cubs to ride out safely in a group without the need to travel on any roads. This is subject to change as we are in the early planning stages, however for reference, the start location will be no further than this point.
Yours in Scouting – The Cubs Team

On the 30th May we have the Country Boots festival between lunchtime to 10pm at Hartsfield School which will be an amazing event for those seeking a little bit of the American country life.
We’ll be supporting this event by helping clear up the following day and will be running a little pick with our Beavers and Cubs on the 31st May to help raise funds for our group.
Every year, hundreds of local Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers get together with their families and friends to raise money for us and our Scouting District by walking the Letchworth Greenway.
For more information, take a look at the District website with all the Greenway information. The route can be located here.
As a rough guide, the route follows the original Letchworth Heritage foundation route, but does have a few variances; so please check the map on the day.
